Earlier today, Verizon made their new XLTE network official. Which it’s basically just another band for their LTE network. XLTE is running on the 700MHz band and provides more bandwidth and almost double the data speeds. Which is great for those in congested areas, which is basically why XLTE exists. We’ve already published a list of all the cities that Verizon XLTE is available in at Launch, so if you missed that you may want to check that out. Now we are listing all the devices that are compatible with XLTE. Which are as follows:
“Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, LG G2, Motorola Droid Mini, Motorola Droid Maxx, Samsung Galaxy S4, Moto X, LG Lucid 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One max, Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, LG G Pad 8.3 LTE, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014).”
That’s roughly about 35% of the devices they currently sell. And all the devices they’ve launched from last fall until now. Which is pretty great that XLTE supports that many devices at launch. It means a lot of people will get to check out XLTE and what it’s all about. The great thing about XLTE is that it appears that Verizon isn’t adding another logo on the back of your phone, and that there isn’t a new signal indicator indicating that you’re on XLTE, like Sprint does with Sprint Spark. Which I actually kinda like the Sprint Spark icon, even though it shows up when you don’t have Spark connectivity. Remember that with faster speeds, you’re likely to hit your data cap sooner, so if you’re not on unlimited data, be sure to keep tabs on your account so you don’t get charged overages.
How many of you have an XLTE supported device on Verizon? Be sure to let us know in the comments down below.
