Android How To: Enable Battery Percentage on the Samsung Galaxy S5

One of the features that most of the manufacturer skins have that stock Android does not, is the ability to add the battery percentage to the status bar next to the battery icon. Samsung has been doing this for years, and it’s one of my favorite features of Touchwiz. Today, we’re going to show you how to do this, and it’s quite simple actually. We also have a video down below showing you how to enable the battery percentage on the Samsung Galaxy S5.

How to enable battery percentage

  1. Pull down the notification shade
  2. Tap on the Gear icon to jump into settings
  3. Tap on Battery
  4. Tap on ‘Show Battery Percentage’

That’s all there is too it. It’s just that simple to enable the battery percentage onto the Galaxy S5, and it’s definitely helpful to have up there in the notification bar. Especially when you begin to run low on battery toward the end of the day. Battery Widget Reborn is also a great app for doing this. As it tells you about how long before your battery dies based on usage. Which I’m a big fan of. That’s available on the Play Store for those interested in it. How many of you keep the battery percentage turned on, on your Samsung Galaxy S5?
