BLU has been quite busy lately in releasing new smartphones. Late last night, they announced the new Vivo IV and Life 8 smartphones to add to their Vivo and Life line up of devices. Both of which are featuring octa-core processors from MediaTek. While the Vivo IV features a Super HD AMOLED display, the Life 8 features an IPS display, so you’ve got plenty of choices here.
As far as specs go for the Vivo IV we’re looking at; Network: 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, 3G (HSPA+ 21Mbps) 850/1900/2100, Single Micro-SIM Card Slot. Display: Full HD Super AMOLED 5.0 inch 1080 x 1920, with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Processor: MediaTek Octa-Core MT6592 1.7GHz with Mali450-MP4 Graphics Core. OS: Android v4.2 Jelly Bean, upgradable to Android 4.4 Kitkat in June 2014. Camera: Rear – 13 megapixel with LED Flash, Video Record 1080p @ 30fp; Front – 5.0 megapixel. So we’re not looking at super high-end specs here, but given the pricing of $299 for the Vivo IV and $199 for the Life 8 unlocked, it’s kind of hard to beat. Sure they are getting some competition from Motorola now with the Moto E and Moto G. But with as many choices as BLU has these days, it’s nice to have choices. Both are available for purchase now.
