In this day and age of companies having access to all sorts of user data, security and privacy are more important than ever before. More and more, users are moving away from open social networks and gravitating to private networks and messaging apps like WhatsApp and Snapchat. John McAfee sees this an opportunity as well, because his company Future Tense Private Systems has released a new private messaging app called Chadder.
Chadder is focused primarily on encryption and keeping messages as secure as possible. Chadder keeps things private by encrypting messages that are transmitted. When a message is sent, the recipient is the only one who can read it. If anyone intercepts a message, they only see “garbled, encrypted text.” Keeps things pretty safe, right?
The set up for the app is really simple. Once you download Chadder, you’ll need to create a new account. All you’ll need for that is your unique nickname, a username, and a password. That will create your account, and then you can add your phone number or email address to make it easier for people to find you. You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to, though. You can also generate a sharing code that you can send to people you want to chat with, keeping things even more anonymous.
There aren’t a lot of users on Chadder yet, so searching by email or the other search methods may not return anything for you yet. Chadder is available for Android and Windows Phone, with iOS being left out for now. The app is still in the early stages and totally looks like it. The UI isn’t very clean, but that’s not the point. If you’re looking for a private messaging app that should keep you messages secure from prying eyes, this may be the one you want. You can download it from the source link below and check it out for yourself. There’s a video that the company has released, too. If you do try it out, make sure to let us know how you like it in the comments below.
