CyanogenMod 11 brings new Powerful Theme Engine in latest Nightlies

CyanogenMod is always adding new goodies into their ROM, and are usually redoing aspects of their ROM that were designed years ago. To make it perform better and improve the user interface. Recently, CyanogenMod announced a brand new Theme Engine which is now in the latest nightlies for all supported devices. The new Theme Engine, really isn’t all that new, but still nice to see it get a slight upgrade. According to CyanogenMod:

“Taking full advantage of the new theme engine, the chooser allows you to preview all elements of the theme, including fonts, sounds and boot animation, and apply them in a packs or individually. This new UI will also consolidate the Wallpaper and Lockscreen Wallpaper elements, to give you a single point of access to set them both.”

So now instead of just changing the entire theme, you can change the font, wallpaper, sounds, boot animation, etc., individually. Which provides a lot more customization, at least in my opinion it does. For those that still theme their CM install on their device, this is going to be a pretty big deal. It is now surfacing in the latest nightlies, so those that want to get their hands on this new theme manager, just need to update to either yesterday’s or today’s nightly to get your fix.

For those of you running the latest CyanogenMod 11 nightlies, be sure to let us know how you are liking the new Theme Manager/Engine in the comments below. It looks really robust and powerful and can’t wait to see what everyone can accomplish with the new theme manager. For those looking to flash CyanogenMod 11, I recently did a tutorial on how to flash it on the LG G2. Which the process is the same on every device, so you can use that tutorial for yours as well.
