This afternoon, LG announced the LG G3 which has a 13MP camera with OIS+ and Laser Auto-Focus. Which is quite the improvement over the LG G2’s camera, although the LG G2 wasn’t all that bad in terms of the camera. The camera on the LG G2 was pretty amazing, and the G3 camera is even better. Which we are going over all of the camera features in this post, so be sure to continue reading below.
The LG G3 camera focuses in less time than it takes to blink. Which is pretty damn fast. Compared to the LG G2, that’s even faster, which the G2 was pretty fast already. They are comparing it to phase AF, which is a bit slower to focus on the subject which is interesting. LG has also simplified the process of capturing these moments. With the camera on the LG G3, you just need to tap on the screen where you want it to focus and it’ll snap your picture. So that way it’s one less step, instead of focusing then snapping.
In terms of OIS+ it’s 20% better than OIS in the LG G2. Which makes it even easier to take pictures, especially when your hands aren’t still, or you’re moving around. LG also revamped the front-facing camera, so that it is superior to selfies. Making it the best selfie camera. They increased the number of lenses and changed the image sensor. In order to take a picture, simply raise your hand and it’ll begin it’s countdown to take your picture.
LG has also improved the audio when recording with the camera. Also the audio is improved with the speakers, call quality and everything else used in the LG G3. It also records in quad HD quality, which is pretty amazing.
So that’s the LG G3 camera, it’s quite the upgrade over the LG G2’s camera which was one of the best smartphone camera’s in 2013.
