The day is closing in for when we get to travel back to Moscone Center West for the annual Google I/O developers conference, where we are slated to hear plenty of what’s new stuff surrounding Android. This year is poised to offer up tons of great information on the Android Wear platform and what Google has planned for it, and of course there will be lots to learn about Android as well. The focal point for many of the entire event is the keynote of course, but there is a ton more stuff to see and learn and you can now get your hands on the event schedule. If you’re attending and you’re ready to start planning out your days at the conference, there’s no time like the present to get a jump start and get all the things you’ll be interested in, pinned down and marked off as sessions you’ll want to be a part of.
Besides the Keynote, which according to the event schedule will be a 2 hour long affair, there are at least a few other Android related specific sessions that could have some great information. The Keynote starts promptly at 9am and goes until 11, after which there’s the expected lunch break from 11 to 1. During that time though the code labs and sandbox will also be going(they’re actually going on all day)so if you want to check some of that stuff out before the sessions begin at 1 you’ll want to make sure and eat quick. For new Android related stuff, the first day has the What’s New In Android session taking place at 1 right after lunch, a gaming session that should provide some Android perspective throughout called The Next 5 Billion Gamers at 2pm, and at 3pm there’s a session surrounding wearables called Wearable Computing with Google.
Wrapping up the day for Android specific things is the Android Fireside Chat at 4pm, where devs will get the chance for a Q and A session with the Android Platform team. The second day promises some interesting sessions as well, with a session on Google Play Games, What’s new in Android Developer Tools, a Google Glass workshop focused on Glassware design and development, and an Android Wear: Designer’s Perspective session.
