HTC One M8 Prime Rumored to be Waterproof and a Composite Aluminum/Liquid Silicon Shell

More HTC One M8 Prime rumors coming out this morning. Once again coming from our buddy Evleaks. We haven’t heard as much about the One M8 Prime as we have the Galaxy S5 Prime, but we do know they both exist. But what we have heard about the HTC One M8 Prime is that the device will feature a 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 18MP camera on the back. Yeah, the rumor is no more UltraPixel, which now it wouldn’t be much of a surprise since the HTC One Mini 2 doesn’t have an UltraPixel Camera it just has a regular 13MP shooter on the back.

Now according to evleaks there are two important things about this HTC One M8 Prime. One is that it’ll be waterproof, finally bringing their flagship up to par with Samsung and Sony. While Sony has been making their Xperia devices waterproof for over a year now, their biggest competitor, Samsung, just made the Galaxy S5 waterproof. The second part is that the HTC One M8 Prime will be made of a composite Aluminum and Liquid Silicon shell. Also known as AlSiC.

That’s all we’ve got on the new HTC One M8 Prime so far, but I’m sure that’s not the end of it. The device is expected to be launching in September, so we’ve still got plenty of time for leaks and rumors of the HTC One M8 Prime, and I’m sure plenty of this stuff will change between now and then. We may even see a few video reviews like we did for the HTC One M8 earlier this year. But the HTC One M8 Prime is definitely a device that’s going to catch a lot of people’s eyes. The specs on this thing are amazing, so far. And going with a 18MP camera is definitely going to get people talking.
