Back in April, Lenovo announced they would be releasing a new ‘A Series’ budget-line of tablets in the U.S. starting at just $129. Lenovo promised new 7, 8, and 10-inch models that they are promoting as ‘multimedia’ devices. As promised, they have finally ‘arrived,” and you can purchase them directly from Lenovo’s website or on Amazon, at a discounted price. The Lenovo A7, Lenovo A8 and Lenovo A10 – all models come with a 1280 x 800 IPS resolution display, a MediaTek MT8121 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and 1GB of RAM. They also sport 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB ports and a microSD slot for added storage expansion and all three are running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Breaking down the individual sizes – the A7 is the 7-inch model and it comes in two variations, although for $10 difference in price you would wonder why Lenovo would bother with the cheaper mode. The basic A7 model for $129 will give you 8GB of internal storage, a 2MP front-facing camera (FFC) for video chatting and selfies, but no main camera from taking pictures and a mono speaker. You also get a 3450mAh battery that Lenovo claims will give you up to 7.5 hours of usage. For ONLY $10 more, at $139, Lenovo doubles the internal storage to 16GB and throws in a 5MP main camera along with the 2MP FFC…why even bother with the $129 model? It comes in at 7.8 x 4.8 x 0.4-inches and weighs in at 11.2 ounces.
The 8-inch Lenovo A8 comes with both the 5MP and 2MP cameras, as well as 16GB of internal storage, stereo front-mounted speakers, and a 4200mAh battery with up to 8 hours of usage. It measures 8.5 x 5.4 x 0.35-inches and weighs 12.7 ounces. Lenovo is selling it for $180, but it is available on Amazon for only $155.
The 10-inch model, naturally called the Lenovo A10, will set you back $249 and comes with everything the A8 has, including the dual stereo front-facing speakers and a 6340mAh battery for up to 9 hours of usage. It measures 10.4 x 6.9 x .035-inches and weighs in at 1.2 pounds. Amazon is selling the A10 for $220.
Just remember that ALL three tablets are using the same 1200 x 800 resolution so the larger the tablet there will be less resolution and pixels per inch.
