LG's New L35 Takes us Back to Their Humble Beginnings

Back in ‘the day,’ an LG device meant value and low-to-mid range specs – nothing too fancy or flashy or expensive. We know that all of that has changed with the newest efforts from LG over the past couple of years – especially with their LG G2, LG Pro, LG G Flex and the highly anticipated LG G3 and LG Pro 2. These latest devices are true flagship smartphones and we are happy to see LG give some much needed competition. That does not mean that all smartphones have to be top-of-the-line, as evidenced by the Moto G and Moto E, to be successful, as we still need more entry-level devices for emerging nations or people that simply cannot afford the best, but want something new.

The new LG L35 was released without so much as a whisper, and only on LG’s website in Germany.  The device will only see action in a few European countries such as Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Hungary.  Pricing has not yet been set, but we are guessing it will be on the down-low.  It will be offered in Black or White with the famous LG pattern on the removable back cover.

The L35 comes with a 3.2 inch IPS-LCD (HVGA) with 480×320 resolution display, powered by a Snapdragon 200 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 512MB of RAM.  The internal storage is a meager 4GB, but it does have a microSD slot to add an additional 32GB.  It has a 3MP main camera with no flash or auto-focus and no front-facing camera.  It is all powered by a 1540mAh battery – a nice size for this device, which sizes up at 109.4 x 59 x 11.9 mm and weighing in at 107.4 gram.

While the LG L35 is an entry-level smartphone, LG still gave it some of the goodies of the higher priced models – KNOCKON is there so you can simply tap twice on the display to wake up the phone and KNOCK Code is there to protect others from unlocking your L35, Capture Plus, Standard Mode vs Guest Mode where you can allow a ‘visitor’ access to only certain functions on your phone, and Fast Snapshot.  Take a look at the video below and you can get an idea of this phone’s capabilities.
