Moto E Naming and Price Revealed in Shipping Documents for India

Motorola have an event scheduled for May 12th next week and while both the Moto X+1 and Moto E names have been released a view times already now, Motorola have done a good job of keeping the pertinent details under wraps. We know a little bit about Motorola’s upcoming devices however, as the Moto X+1 is designed to be a revamped Moto X and the Moto E is to become Motorola’s most accessible and affordable device yet. The event is being held in London, England as well as in New Delhi so there’s a good chance that the Moto E will be once again focused to Europe and developing markets like the Moto G was.

As with everything, there’s always room for more information to leak out further down the line and Zauba, an import shipping firm has let details surrounding Motorola’s device slip. The Moto E name has been confirmed by the documents and it looks like the model number is going to be X1022 for the dual-SIM variant, and X1021 for the single-SIM variant. The document is dated as May 3rd and Bangalore is listed on the document so, it looks like the Moto E is going to launch very quickly in India after the announcement, unlike the Moto G.

As for pricing, the Zauba listing states a unit price of RS 6,330 for the Moto E dual-SIM, which roughly translates to $105, but this is more than likely not the final price of the Moto E. Still, this gives us a rough ballpark to work with and it looks like the Moto E is going to live up to Motorola’s promise of being their most affordable smartphone yet. The Moto E is said to come with a 4.3-inch display, dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage (with microSD card support) and a 5-megapixel camera. Nothing special then, but for a little over $100, the Moto E is already sounding like great value. While it looks like India is headed for a swift launch, the UK, Mexico and other developing markets will surely be in line, too.
