The leaks have turned into torrents for the impending LG G3. The device has seen leaks almost at the same levels as those of Samsung’s current flagship – the Samsung Galaxy S5. This time around we have a very clear pic – almost like a press render – which shows off the device, a new case and also gives a measurement of the G3’s figure. For the uninitiated, the LG G3 is the upcoming iteration of LG’s last years’ flagship the LG G2, however the device is rumored to have received upgrades across all segments – from hardware to design philosophy. Another aspect is of note here, the Google Nexus 5 was based off of the LG G2 in terms of hardware and specs and the same relationship is expected this year around. If LG were to manufacture the next Nexus smartphone, undeniably the device would be based off the LG G3 – probably excluding the back mounted buttons, hence the heightened interest in this device.
Our favorite leakster, @EVLeaks is to be thanked for this leak as well, which shows off the LG G3 from all sides, albeit encased. With this unknown case on, the G3 measures 15 cm in length and 7.8 cm in width and measures in at 1.3 cm in thickness. The dimensions aside, the images do not reveal any new information about the device. In terms of specifications, the LG G3 is rumored to offer a 5.5 inch 2K display with 1440 x 2560 pixels which amounts to a whopping 534 ppi pixel density. This beast is supposedly powered by quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.26 GHz, a 13 MP primary and 2 MP secondary camera and will be juiced up by a 3000 mAh battery. The LG G3 is rumored to be available in two variants – one with 16 GB internal storage and 2 GB RAM, while the second variant will have 32 GB internal storage and 3 GB of RAM. Since dust and water proofing have become standards for flagship devices, we would expect the LG G3 to tote the same too, however there is no official news on it yet. The device is capable of quad-band 2G and 3G as well as tri-band 4G connectivity.
One good leak always points towards more to come. We believe in that philosophy and will definitely keep our eyes peeled for more news on the LG G3.
