Not aware of what phone manufacturer Vertu has to offer? That’s not surprising since they don’t have a very large presence to the average consumer,(Vertu used to be a luxury brand of devices owned by Nokia, now independent) more so because of the ridiculously high price tags more than anything else. On top of that Vertu devices have never really been equipped with high specs to go along with the outrageous costs, making them less attractive to those willing to spend money but wanting decent performance in return. That could all soon be changing though according to these benchmark stats found on AnTuTu’s website. The changes would most likely be limited to specs though and suggest a future Vertu device with better hardware but the price is likely to stay just as high as usual. That is merely a speculation though.
For starters, this new device from Vertu comes with Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat on board, and that’s always a good jump off point as more and more consumers like to see the latest version of Android on a device they might consider. On top of that it looks like the new phone will be coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics, so while not the absolute top of the line, the chipset should give ample performance. The Signature Touch as it’s to be named also supposedly sports a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, and comes with two respectable cameras, a 13MP shooter for the back and a 2MP shooter for the front.
Storage wise it looks to come packed with 16GB of space, so at least it comes with enough to hold over most people, however 32GB would have been the better choice we think, not to mention they could have stepped up the game on the processor. The real question though is not why they didn’t choose to go with newer and more high performance hardware, but how much this new and unannounced device will cost in the end regardless of what types of specs they use. If history is doomed to repeat itself then most likely it’ll cost an arm and a leg, which translates to you could probably either buy whatever the next Nexus will be plus a new Chromebook and a new tablet, and maybe some accessories, or you could end up buying this thing whenever it releases.
