The OnePlus One is well on its way to an official release for all the masses, while the small batch that has already been sent out recently begun reaching their owners over past weeks and along with them came a slightly buggy and unfinished software build according to some. The good news is that Cyanogen and the team at OnePlus was prompt with pushing out an official update for the Cyanogenmod11S software build that is now stable and should relieve those buggy devices of any troubling issues they have been having since first use. While it might have been a little annoying to get those bugs in the first place this can happen when being an early adopter, and with a group like Cyanogen on board one could expect that they would fix those issues fast, and they did.
The final and stable release of Cyanogenmod11S is now available to download and install, so if you want to fix those tiny hiccups you might have been noticing, it’s recommended that you follow through with the update. It should also be stated though that doing this particular update will factory wipe your device according to the source, so if you have anything important on the phone already and want to make sure that you keep it, you’ll need to do your proper backups to save any and all information that you don’t want deleted. While this software release does wipe data, we would expect that future software releases will not be the same and that updates will probably work as intended without data wipes.
So what does this stable release include? Plenty of stuff, some bug fixes and tweaks among other things like improvements and new features. New features include stereo video recording, and a new welcome screen, while improvements and tweaks include earpiece performance, smoother 4K video recording, better keyboard haptic feedback and a redesigned flashlight app. For fixes, this software update fixes the lockscreen glitches, and fixes the home key glitch on double tap that people have been experiencing.
