OnePlus One Gets TWRP Recovery, Now If only You Could Get One

The OnePlus One was announced last month in the midst of a lot of hype for the device, and rightfully so. As it was supposed to be a no-compromise device. And well there are a few compromises. One being that you can’t really get your hands on one just yet. OnePlus did the “Smash the Past” promotion where 100 people got to smash their device or donate it to those in need in order to get a OnePlus One for a dollar. While a few winners just got an empty box. Now we are waiting on the invites to start pouring out, which should be next month. So if you’re lucky enough to get an invite to buy a OnePlus One, then you can grab one. While everyone else has to wait until the end of the summer.

However, the OnePlus One now has TWRP recovery now. So if you’re not happy with CyanogenMod 11S on your OnePlus One and are looking for another recovery to throw on your device, TWRP has you covered. Obviously you’ll need to root your device to flash TWRP on there, but once you do that it’s pretty simple. But just because you root your device doesn’t mean you have to flash a custom ROM on there. You can always check out some Xposed tweaks, and some other root apps like Titanium backup. But still great to see that TWRP is now available for the OnePlus One, so whenever you get your device, you can immediately root it and flash TWRP recovery.

The OnePlus One is available in 16GB for $299 or 64GB for $349. That’s the full retail price, not a subsidized one, which makes it a pretty amazing deal, but again it only works on T-Mobile and AT&T. So if you are on Verizon or Sprint, you’re out of luck, unfortunately.
