Now we have some renderings of the new Amazon smartphone, which the company keeps denying that they are working on. The smartphone is said to have 6 cameras, four on the front for gestures, along with your standard rear-facing camera and front-facing camera. That’s a lot of cameras. Now BGR has gotten a leak of the first renderings of the Amazon smartphone, and it looks oddly familiar. I may be alone here, but I think it looks like a Nexus 4 and an iPhone 5 mashed together. Anyone else see that?
Looking at the image, we can see that the volume rocker and power button are on the left side, along with the SIM card slot. It’s tough to tell whether that’s a micro or nano SIM card slot though. It could be a nano SIM seeing as that’s what everyone is going for these days. But looking at the front, it looks just like an iPhone. Complete with the beveled edges, the physical home button and even the earpiece is the same. Apple is definitely going to have fun with this. On the back you can see your camera and flash in the right-hand corner, along with your Amazon logo on the back and all the FCC information at the bottom. It looks like Amazon has put the headphone jack at the top of the device, as the bottom we see the microUSB charger and speaker. Although the speaker at the bottom could be like the G2’s and one side is a mic while the other is a speaker. It’s tough to tell from pictures.
This smartphone does look pretty nice. There’s no crazy logos everywhere – like a Verizon phone would have. Although the Amazon smartphone is said to be an AT&T exclusive, we have yet to see proof of that just yet. How many of you are interested in this smartphone from Amazon?
