Now that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is out and in millions of hands, its time to get the rumor mill churning on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. According to a leaked document that GSM Arena obtained, which showed off screen sizes for for upcoming Samsung devices – the Galaxy S5 Mini, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5 Prime and the Galaxy Note 4 – it appears that the Galaxy S5 Prime won’t be the only device from Samsung this year with a QHD display. The Galaxy Note 4 is sticking to the same size display this year, but adding a lot more pixels. Jumping from 1920×1080 to 2560×1440. That would bring the PPI up to about 515. Which is pretty crazy.
So what else will the Galaxy Note 4 have? We have no idea, but we’re pretty sure it’ll have the latest and greatest hardware. Like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, possibly 4GB of RAM since Samsung did put that module into mass production earlier this year. Sammobile does point out that the Galaxy Note 4 will not have a curved display. I actually agree with them on that. Although it would be really great to have one, I just don’t think it’s ready yet. We’ll probably see another Galaxy Round later this year – which should make it outside of Korea this time – and perhaps next year we see curved displays on other flagships out of Samsung. But as for right now, I don’t think that technology is quite ready yet.
We’re still expecting for Samsung to announce the Galaxy Note 4 at IFA this fall in Berlin. Which is where Samsung has announced the Galaxy Note every year so far. The Galaxy Note line is basically Samsung’s new flagship line, and I’m sure Samsung will be pulling out all the stops for the Galaxy Note 4, just as they did with the Galaxy Note 3 last year.
