Earlier we saw a leaked press image of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 with Verizon branding. Now Evleaks is back with another press image, this time of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, with Verizon’s name on it. So it appears that Verizon is getting a couple of new tablets very soon, from Samsung. As I mentioned in the last post, Verizon seems to really be working to get a good portfolio of LTE tablets. They’ve added a few great tablets lately like the Nexus 7 (2013) LTE, Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2, and the LG G Pad 8.3. Now we’re looking at the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and 10.1 making it’s way to big red as well. The reason why carriers are turning to tablets now, is for more subscribers. They can double-dip by getting someone with a smartphone and a tablet. And that means more money for them. With Verizon having one of the best networks out there, it’s a no-brainer.
We aren’t sure when both the Galaxy Tab 4 tablets are going to make their way to Verizon, but since we have press images, it should be pretty soon. Although it’s still a good idea to take this with a grain of salt since we’ve seen press images for other devices on various carriers, and they never saw the light of day. But we’ll know more once these devices make it through Verizon’s certification process and get announced by the carrier. I’d expect the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 to be priced around $50 and the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 to be priced around $150 or so, of course that’s on contract. Which Verizon is giving all it’s customers a free gigabyte of data per month for the life of their tablet. Which is a pretty good deal, and probably a strike back against T-Mobile.
How many of you are tempted to pick up a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 from Verizon when it becomes official?
