Evleaks is back with another leak. This time it’s the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and it’s coming to Verizon…eventually. It appears that the carriers are really beginning to step up their tablet game. For a while there we were only seeing iPads on carriers, and the occasional Android tablet. But so far this year Verizon has announced the LG G Pad 8.3, Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2, the Nexus 7 (2013) LTE, and now the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. T-Mobile has also been putting a lot of tablets on their network as well. They’ve released a few new tablets already this year with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition coming next month. Although it doesn’t appear that Sprint and AT&T are on board with tablets just yet. But I’m sure that’s coming soon.
Now back to the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. The picture above comes out of Evleaks this morning. And as you can see it’s definitely headed to Verizon seeing as there’s a Verizon logo on the back, and the 4G LTE icon in the status bar is also Verizon’s signal indicator. For those wondering, yes there’s only one Verizon logo on the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0. Yeah, it’s a bit surprising, but it appears that only LG lets Verizon put more than one logo on their devices these days. See the LG G2 and LG Lucid 3 on Verizon.
As far as specs go, we’re looking at a 8-inch 1280×800 resolution display, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot, 3.15MP camera on the back, and a 1.3MP camera on the front, along with a 4450mAh battery inside and running on Android 4.4.2. So it’s no contender for a flagship tablet, but it’s definitely going to be a cheap tablet, probably around $50-100. And it’ll sell really well as usual.
