For those of your rocking the Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 8.4, there’s about to be some fun going on. That’d be the fact that this tablet finally has CyanogenMod 11 nightlies. So if you’re one that bought the Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 for the hardware, and don’t like Touchwiz – or just want to try something new – CyanogenMod 11 is here to help. Obviously you’ll need to be rooted, and have a custom recovery installed for the Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 already. Then you’ll need to download the ROM as well as the Gapps. Then head into your recovery and flash both zip files, and make sure you do a factory reset and wipe cache and dalvik to make sure everything works right.
CyanogenMod brings stock Android to the Galaxy TabPRO 8.4, and it will also speed up your device, not to mention look amazing on that display. The Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 is branded as ‘mondrianwifi‘ and the downloads are coming in at just over 200MB in size. Which is about the same size as CyanogenMod 11 for every other device out there. It’s important that we remind you that just because these are nightlies and they are available, doesn’t mean they are stable. The first few nightlies will probably have their own fair share of bugs and issues as well. So if you don’t want to be bothered with bugs and such, I’d recommend waiting for the M-release, which we should see one in the next few weeks. Since CM is moving to doing those every 2 weeks.
How many of you are planning on flashing CyanogenMod 11 onto your Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 8.4? Or are you planning on sticking with Touchwiz-based ROMs to preserve some of the features Samsung added, like multi-window? Let us know in the comments below.
