Samsung’s Galaxy K Zoom has been announced but we don’t know when it’s going to be available. The company wants us to know how this thing can change your life. At the very least, the K Zoom will make you smile you like crazy, if this use case video is to be believed.
This video, titled ‘Samsung GALAXY K zoom – Use Case’, showcases a woman going through her day, using the phone. First she’s jogging and sees a giant ladybug in a tree. She stops to take a picture of it, and then zooms in to get a closer shot. Then she gets a phone call because Samsung wants us to know that this is also a phone, not just a point-and-shoot. She then goes to work, takes more calls, and snaps more photos. Throughout her day, she’s using the device as both a phone and a camera. She takes shots in low light, she takes group photos, and everything (of course) looks fantastic. She never stops smiling. Samsung is telling us that the K Zoom can be used as a phone. After the debacle that was the Galaxy S4 Zoom, this commercial is on point with what consumers need to see if the company wants to sell any of these smartphones this year.
The Galaxy K Zoom looks thinner than the S4 Zoom, so it should be easier to use it as a phone. It has a 20.7-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, which should be able to capture stunning photos. It has a Xenon flash and OIS, and captures Full HD video at 60 frames per second. The device also has something called Pro Suggest that will suggest settings and filters that you should use based on lighting conditions and background scenery. As usual, Samsung is packing this smartphone full of features. Some of them will be helpful, some of them you’ll probably never touch. The biggest thing Samsung wants us to understand is that the smartphone is both a good camera and a good phone/data device.
We don’t know when the Galaxy K Zoom is going to arrive, although it will cost €519 in Germany. We are expecting a launch sometime in Q2. The device has also been rumored to be available in the UK sometime in June. Check out the video below and let us know what you think!
