How it Works: First thing’s first, you’ll need to download Chromedrop from the Play Store. After that, you’re asked to choose your color. It’s said that this will “affect your destiny” so it’s best to think about this.
Once you’ve chosen your color, you’ll be given a tutorial on how to play the game.
Your attacks and “moves” as I like to think o them are at the bottom. You need to collect 2 red drops in order to deal damage to your opponent, or 2 blue ones to get a little help back. These can be changed and upgraded over drop from the Drop Store. the aim of the game is to compete against opponents and climb the ladders of the three main elemental colors.
Once you get into the gameplay style, everything sort of comes together and you could end up addicted, which is what happened to me. When fighting an opponent, you need to keep an eye on both your health in the left corner and theirs in the right corner. Balancing attack with health replenishment while not missing a single drop is tricky, especially when you use yellow drops to increase the speed at which colors drop into play.
At the end of each level you complete, you’re given an amount of dropcoins to spend on new moves and such in the store.
There are a lot of new things to try out from the Drop Store, from more powerful attacks or powers to form your own type of game to special drops you have to unlock in special ways.
Opinion: The gameplay of Chromedrop drew me in and and I was hooked. I spent far too much time on one simple level when playing on my tablet because I having that much fun. The design here is clearly inspired by some of Google’s latest design changes and there’s nothing wrong with that, however because of this it felt like I wasn’t quite playing a game at first. That’s more to do with the fact that I live and breath through Google’s services, though. A calming game throughout, Chromedrop manages to present a good challenge that fans of puzzle games, RPG games and just casual games will all find something to enjoy here.
