Uber Leaves Beta And Updates Their Android App Officially To Version 3.0

Earlier this month Google updated their Maps application to include some Uber integration, making it easier and more seamless and convenient to find vehicles belonging to the ride share service in your local area through Maps. Uber recently updated their app as well, giving the user interface a complete redesign in the most subtle ways. The redesigned UI was previously in beta prior to today and brought Uber forward to version 3.0. It doesn’t really look like Uber has changed much in regards to the app itself as far as features goes, this update seems merely to have been solely about giving the app a new fresh look that was more pleasing to the eye and an overall better user experience due to visual enhancements over the old version of the application.

Other than the UI refinement, Uber has stated that the app should just run smoother and faster with a  tighter accuracy than before. In the end there isn’t anything major about the changes Uber has received but sometimes there isn’t a need for any sort of additives. In this case Uber believes that to be true but they felt things just needed a facelift. If you had previously used the Uber app before now it should be a nice visual improvement for you as things look generally cleaner and more streamlined than before. The app just looks better than it used to.

Uber for those who are unaware is a popular ride share service that operates in over 30 countries and 100 cities around the globe currently. The difference between Uber and other ride share services is that Uber doesn’t task you with reserving vehicles to pick up yourself, but rather has you call to request a pick up instead. It’s more like a taxi service that you can access from anywhere in the city, so long as you’re in a city where the service operates. Rides arrive in minutes according to the service and you can choose from four different vehicle types to get picked up in starting with the UberT. Customers also have the option of requesting a ride in the UberX, the UberBlack, and the UberSUV. If you’re already an Uber member make sure to install the update at your convenience.

Get your first ride free, and you’ll earn a free ride (up to $20) for spreading the word as well . It’s the ultimate win-win.
