Vodafone is making a pretty big promise to its customers right now. And that is their monthly bill will not increase during their contract. Which we typically see happen a lot, especially as these carriers are looking to bring in more money each month. Vodafone, who used to own a stake in Verizon Wireless, is still one of the largest carriers in the world. Which Softbank is trying to change that as they want to be one of the largest. Which is why they bought Sprint. So it’s nice to see Vodafone promising not to change your plan during your contract, seeing as you can’t get out of your contract without paying some big cash.
“We asked our customers what they thought was fair when it came to charging, and the clear majority told us that it was unacceptable to increase monthly prices during the contract term,” stated Cindy Rose, the company’s Consumer Director. “So from now on, when you sign up with us, a deal’s a deal, and we promise the monthly price you pay will stay the same for the period of your contract term, provided you stick within your allowance.”
To be clear, this goes for all contracts on Vodafone. That includes any length, and tablet customers as well. However, you must remember that it’s only the phone rental that’s being fixed, while the other fees can be changed. Which Vodafone doesn’t always have control over. “In line with Ofcom guidance we may still change prices outside of the monthly line rental agreement,” Vodafone stated “These would include calls to premium rate numbers, non-geographic numbers and calls, texts and data use outside of allowances as set out in a customer’s line rental agreement.”
It’s great to see this promise coming out of Vodafone, especially being one of the larger carriers in the world. What do you think about this promise from Vodafone? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.
