Sprint’s Galaxy S5 Gets WiFi Calling Update
WiFi Calling has taken off over the last couple of years and it can be a pretty handy feature to have on a smartphone these days. Sprint has finally updated the Galaxy S5 to support WiFi Calling with the update to software build G900PVPU1ANE5. Somewhat surprisingly, that’s all that is listed for this update on Sprint’s site, not even a whiff of “bug fixes” in site.
Qualcomm’s Toq Finally Gets a Stopwatch in Latest Update
The Toq might not be the best-looking smartwatch out there, nor the most useful, but it shouldn’t be cast aside. The Toq is still more of a display of what Qualcomm’s Mirasol tech can offer, but it’s also a pretty decent watch. In its latest update, the Toq finally gets a stopwatch applet from Qualcomm as well as some other fixes and tightening of bolts. If you have a Toq on your wrist, you’ll get the update through your companion app.
Samsung Updates Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit
The Gear 2 line of devices have been updated to count steps more accurately as well as some tightening of code. The update also adjusts the heart rate monitor feature and the sleep mode as well. It’s a fairly small update, and one that you’ll see come through on your Galaxy smartphone. You can read more on Samsung’s own site.
Samsung Update Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat
While Samsung’s Galaxy Tab lineups have been pretty uninspiring as of late, they do have the Galaxy Tab Pro line and now the Galaxy Tab S line to fill in the gaps. Still, one thing Samsung has become pretty good at is updating their devices. They’ve once again proven such a thing by updating the 8-inch Galaxy Tab 3 to Android 4.4.2. If you have the SM-T310 model of the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, and you’re in Europe, then you should be receiving the T310XXUBNE9 update which brings Android 4.4.2 along with it.
T-Mobile Update Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S5 and LG G Flex to Support VoLTE in All Markets
T-Mobile had previously update some devices to support VoLTE in certain markets, but the G Flex, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 3 are being updated to support VoLTE in all markets where it’s available. For the Galaxy S5 you’ll be looking for build G900TUVU1BNF6, build N900TUVUDNF1 on the Galaxy Note 3 and software version D95920m on the LG G Flex.
