Android Wear this, Android Wear that. We’ve been seeing new things about Android Wear for quite some time. Since Google released the SDK a few months ago, and Motorola and LG announced their devices, we’ve been getting really excited about these new wearables. Android Wear is a beautifully looking OS that Google has made, and it’s mostly made of Google Now, similar to what Google Glass has. The SDK has been available for a bit, now the developer preview is available as well. So those that are looking to develop on Android Wear can get their hands on Android Wear software, at least until the LG G Watch and Moto 360 are available. The LG G Watch is said to be the reference device for Android Wear, basically the Nexus of Android Wear, which we should see at Google I/O in about a week.
The site doesn’t really show much about the upcoming smartwatches. But we can see how Android Wear looks on square and round displays. Most importantly on the Moto 360 and the LG G Watch. We should learn a ton more at Google I/O on June 25th, which I think we’ll be seeing most of that conference just for the new OS and ecosystem that is Android Wear. Many of us have been looking forward to Android Wear as these smartwatches have been getting better and better, especially the ones from Samsung. Which I can only speak of Samsung’s smartwatches since I’ve only used their’s. It’ll be interesting to see how well Android Wear does and if it dominates the market when it’s released.
How many of you are interested in developing for Android Wear? How many of you are interested in picking up a smartwatch from Motorola, LG, HTC, ASUS, Acer, Samsung or any of the other Android Wear partners? Let us know in the comments below.
