Even with a Quad HD Display, the LG G3 Still Blows away the Competition in Battery Life

One of the major concerns for most people with the LG G3 was all the pixels, in comparison to the battery life. For those with the LG G2, you’ve been spoiled by amazing battery life. Trust me, I’m one of them. It’s why I thought the Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 was mediocre in terms of battery life. Many of us thought that the LG G3 would have less than stellar battery life since it has the same 3000mAh battery as the LG G2, and also has twice the pixels and about .3 inches larger display. But according to a new chart that surfaced this morning, it looks like LG still holds the crown for the best battery life.

Now this chart doesn’t really depict accurate daily use, as they used a web script. But considering they did the same test on all of these phones, and the LG G3 even beat out the Samsung Galaxy S5, that’s pretty amazing, considering the Galaxy S5 has a 2800mAh, 5.2-inch 1080p display, and the LG G3 has a 3000mAh, 5.5-inch 2560×1440 resolution display. The LG G3 came out with 8:50 hours of battery life (now this is with the web script going, so this is close to on-screen time), with the Samsung Galaxy S5 coming in second at 8:20 hours, followed by the Sony Xperia Z2 at 8:10 hours of battery life. Towards the bottom is the LG G2 which had about 6:48 of battery life and the iPhone 5S was last, but we won’t talk about that.

So despite the beefier specs, and more power hungry display, LG managed to put in a bigger display double the pixels, and the same battery size, and get more battery life out of the G3 when compared to the G2. That is pretty amazing if you ask me. What do the rest of you think? Is this tempting you to pick up the LG G3?
