EvolveSMS and Pushbullet Team Up; Want You to Touch Your Phone Less

Imagine this, you’re sitting at home on your computer watching cat videos and you receive a text message on your phone. In this situation the most common method that most of us will do is grab our phone, read the text, respond, and then get back to watching our favorite cat videos. Well get back to your imaginative state and replay that entire scenario again. Instead of you grabbing your phone to respond back to a text message, the message your phone received has now popped up as a notification on your computer screen. You click the notification to view it and respond, then get back to cat video watching. Doesn’t that sound like a very innovative and efficient way of text based communicating? Well, that scenario that I had you play in your head will soon come to life.

Jacob Klinker, the developer of the app EvolveSMS, announced a partnership with Pushbullet. If you don’t know what EvloveSMS is, it is a  powerful texting replacement app that makes talking to your friends quick and fun. The partnered app Pushbullet, is an app that easily shares pictures, links, and files among your devices. Now that these two companies have joined forces, they have been working on a project that will allow users to view text messages on their computer and respond back to them without touching their phone. As of right now they are still working on this feature but it will be available in the EvolveSMS 1.8.0 Beta 1. If you are eager to try it out, you can join the beta by being part of the EvolveSMS community on Google Plus and opt into the beta from the link available in the groups description. You will also need to join the Pushbullet community as well and opt into their beta that is also available in the groups description. The version of Pushbullet that you will need is 14.3.

This new partnership with EvolveSMS and Pushbullet is going beyond the boundaries of how we communicate. This new project that these two companies have put into works is very nifty and just like technology always does, make everyday life just a little bit easier. If you don’t want to try out the beta but are curious on how this really works, you can watch this video below.
