Get your Flashable .zip for Android 4.4.3 for the Moto G and Moto X

This week, Google finally began rolling out the latest version of KitKat, which is Android 4.4.3. Now it began hitting Nexus devices earlier this week, adding more each day. And now it’s beginning to hit Motorola’s devices as well, like the Moto X and the Moto G. The Moto X on T-Mobile began receiving the update last night, and the Moto G – which is not carrier branded – is also getting a taste of Android 4.4.3. Now, thanks to some great developers at XDA, we have flashable zips for the updates on both models.

As far as the US Unlocked Moto G goes (that doesn’t include the Verizon prepaid or Boost Mobile Moto G) we have the flashable zip here. Which you will need to be rooted so you can flash the update through recovery, if you don’t want to wait for the OTA to hit your own device. Now obviously you will need to be on Android 4.4.2 to flash this zip file.

Next up, we have the T-Mobile and Brazilian Moto G variants. Those also have updates available, and you can get that flashable zip here. It’s important to remind you that if your Moto X is not the T-Mobile or Brazil variant, then this update will not work on your Moto X and you could brick it somehow. Similar to the Moto G, you will need to be rooted so you can flash this via recovery, and you’ll need to be running Android 4.4.2 as well.

It’s great to see updates rolling out so quickly for Android 4.4.3. I mean we’ve got the Nexus line, Google Play Edition and Motorola’s line of devices all getting the update within a week. That’s basically unheard of in the Android world, but it’s something we are definitely liking. I’m sure I’m not alone here either. How many of you have already updated to Android 4.4.3?
