HTC One E8 Gets More, Clearer Pictures

Yesterday, HTC made the One E8 official. It’s a cheaper HTC One M8 that’s made of plastic. Well technically polycarbonate. The specs are identical to the HTC One M8 with the exception of the camera. The One E8 features a 13-megapixel camera instead of the 4-megapixel UltraPixel Duo-camera module that the M8 used. Other specs include a 5-inch 1920×1080 resolution SuperLCD3 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 13MP and 5MP cameras, 2600mAh battery inside, 16GB of storage with a microSD card slot, Android 4.4 Kitkat with Sense 6.0, dimensions of 146.42 x 70.67 x 9.85 mm, and weighing in at only 145 grams. It’s also available in gray, white and red.

The biggest difference between the HTC One M8 and the E8 – aside from the camera – is the material it’s made of. It’s made out of plastic instead of metal. So it’s lighter, but also much cheaper. The E8 is selling in China for about $447 USD compared to the $847 USD that the HTC One M8 sells for. That’s a huge difference in price right there, and it means that HTC can put out a cheaper HTC One without using cheaper internals. Just changing the material.

Well now we have some more images of the device thanks to a Chinese site called iGeek. So we can see everything about the HTC One E8. It actually looks a lot like the HTC One M7 from last year, but we know it’s made of plastic instead of metal. Nonetheless, it still looks really nice, and definitely a phone that would be on my list to upgrade too if it ever came to the US. But it’s likely that this will be sticking to China or at least Asian markets, unfortunately. How many of you are liking the looks of the HTC One E8? Let us know in the comments below.
