Huawei's Next Flagship, Mulan, Leaks Out without Mr BlurryCam

Huawei is said to be prepping a new flagship, that’s codenamed “Mulan” and it should be announced later this year. Perhaps at IFA in September. Although, word on the street is that it’ll be unveiled in Beijing on June 24th. This device we’ve already seen leak out before with some specs. What we’re looking at here for specs are a 5-inch 1080 x 1920-pixel Full HD display, powered by an 8-core Kirin 920 processor clocked at 1.3GHz per core, 3GB of RAM, and a 13MP main camera, along with a 5MP front-facing shooter. No word on battery size or what version of Android it’s running. But it will surely have their Emotion UI on top of that version of Android.

It’s a nice looking device, it does look a bit glossy, so we’ll probably have a fingerprint magnet here. There’s also something below the camera on the back, that looks like it could be a fingerprint sensor or something. It’s hard to tell what exactly it is, but I really hope Huawei isn’t copying the way HTC did fingerprint readers on the HTC One Max last year. That was just terrible, since you were always touching the camera sensor. It also has capacitive keys on the front for back, home and menu. Which many of us won’t like, but if the device is good enough, we may be able to overlook that.

Typically, we’d say that we’ll never see this in the US. But that may not be true. As Huawei just launched a US Store just last week, and are now selling the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 here in the US. So we may just get this “Mulan” device here in the US after all. It probably won’t be anytime soon though. Are any of you interested in this new flagship device from Huawei? The specs look pretty good, but they are using their own processor, so it’s tough to see how well the processor will perform for us.
