If you’re like me and have been wondering just what the Moto 360 might look like once it’s sitting comfortably on your wrist, more specifically how big or small it would look in comparison to other watches, then feast your eyes on the image here. You can see the picture of the Moto 360 being worn in this Android Wear Design Story over at the Android Developers Blog, which basically sums up some experiences that two of Android Wears design and developer advocates, Roman Nurik and Timothy Jordan, have had with the project thus far, while just generally discussing wearables applications as they’re trying to go over and finalize content they’ll be talking about at the upcoming Google I/O conference in just a few weeks.
The Android Wear Design story is certainly interesting but we think it might be more so exciting for people that are looking into developing apps for the Android Wear platform. Nonetheless it was a good read if you’re just generally interested in Android Wear, and if for nothing else, there are plenty of good snapshots in there with a couple being of the LG G Watch and Moto 360 watch faces, as well as some nice little mockups of different designs for apps. In particular the most interesting part of the write up to me personally was the discussion over “walking tour apps” for Android wear, so if you have a spare few minutes give this thing a once over.
Now for the images. If you take away anything from the blog write up, let it be the size of the Moto 360 watchface. Contrasted to the LG G Watch as you can see both images below, the Moto 360 is massive. It really doesn’t sound like it will be when talking about the actual dimensions because of what we’re used to with smartphone screen sizes, but just look at this thing. If the Moto 360 had a mouth it could open wide and swallow my touch face iPod nano whole without even thinking about it twice. This thing looks like it could swallow your wrist, which would make for some very weird and uncomfortable conversations. The good news is that this means notifications and apps on the Moto 360 should be a little more manageable and enjoyable then we might have thought, which makes me smile pretty big. Does the size of the face turn you off or does it get you even more excited about the release?
