LG G3 Beat Appears In China Looking a Lot Like a G3 Mini

The popularity of the mini is growing. From Samsung creating minis of their Galaxy line to HTC hopping on board creating minis of their own, it seems like everyone wants to be like Dr. Evil. The latest to join the group of heavy weights in the world of minis is LG. LG made a huge impact this year with the release of their LG G3. With its wonderful 5.5 inch screen, the G3 is really a handful. Now LG is adding a new contender and it may not have the word mini in the name but by the look and specs, its pretty much a mini. LG has unveiled in China the LG G3 Beat, which in some terms may be stretching the word mini with its 5 inch screen.

Only being 0.5 inches smaller than its big brother, the LG G3 Beat is what you could call a smaller and lighter version of the the flagship LG G3. Spec wise there isn’t much going on with the G3 Beat. The device sports a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Along with the snapdragon comes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The G3 beat also has a microSD card slot so you have the option to bump up the internal storage. In addition, the G3 Beat comes with an 8-megapixel camera, 4G LTE, and a 2,500 mAh battery. Out of the box, the G3 Beat runs Android Kitkat 4.4.2

Overall, the LG G3 Beat sounds like a nice phone. The device may not compare to the flagship with high end hardware, but as a mini device it does the job. There is no word on when this device will hit the market but it is being priced around 2,500 yuan. Translated to the US Dollar, it’s about $400. Below in the gallery are some more pictures of the LG G3 Beat. Take a look at them and tell us what you think of the mini G3.
