LG's G3 to Launch Across the Globe Starting June 27th

When LG unveiled their latest and greatest, the G3, they didn’t hid the fact that they were pretty proud of what they brought to the table in their latest G Series smartphone. One thing that we didn’t know too much about however, is when LG would be launching the G3 outside of South Korea, today LG is detailing the first regions to get the device and who are to follow. LG’s G3 is to be the Korean giant’s flagship for the rest of 2014 and while there’s word of other devices like the G Vista hitting carriers here in North America, we’re expecting the G3 to launch here some time in July.

Elsewhere around the globe however, LG will be launching the G3 starting June 27th with Asia up first, followed by Europe and the Middle East in July. The Asian countries to first get their hands on the G3 will be Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines. So, it looks like Asia is LG’s first region, which is hardly surprising as this is how they’ve launched devices in the past. If you’re coming off of a two-year contract, then the G3 is to be a huge upgrade from the Optimus G, Galaxy S III, HTC One X or something similar and this Summer is to be the time when you’ll be able to upgrade. Some more information on when and where the device will be going on sale throughout Europe would be nice, but we don’t think LG is looking to drag their feet on this one.

If you’ve been living under a rock as of late, the G3 is a 5.5-inch device packing a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 and is powered by a Snapdragon 801 and 3GB of RAM, if you choose the 32GB model that is. There’s a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera around the back of the device with OIS+ and a new type of build infused with metal that helps the G3 stand out from the plasticky crowd. Those looking to get the device in Asia and Europe will also be able to charge the G3 wirelessly with any Qi compatible charger, including LG’s own charger designed for the G3. LG have prepared a nice infographic for you to get a feel for what makes the G3 so special.
