Lynda.com Learning App Gets Chromecast Support In The Latest Update

As human beings we never stop learning, even after school is over in the physical institutions that we set foot inside of. We can still continue to learn from various other sources. You can teach yourself in a number of ways, or you can even have someone assist and teach you just like in school, and many of those teaching avenues can be found via apps through your smartphone or tablet. Such is the case with a learning application on Android called Lynda.com, that has allowed users to subscribe to its content to learn while on the go. Today, Lynda has just updated their application to include a host of new and updated features along with one notable new functionality, and that’s support for Google’s Chromecast HDMI streaming dongle.

As the Chromecast matures and gets older,(we’ll already be coming up on a year in just the next couple of months)we’re seeing lots more new and fun ways to use the little streaming stick that virtually changed the way many people stream and get access to their content. More apps are being added in as time goes on and Lynda won’t be the last. However it might be the only one matters right now as far some are concerned. That is to say if you’re someone that already uses the Lynda app on your phone or tablet and are delighted that you can now access the content on a much larger screen than before.

As with any update to an application on Android, you can expect to see some performance improvements, along with bug fixes that may have been plaguing the experience for some users. Those of course will seem like they pale in comparison to the Chromecast support though because its such a major thing. The Chromecast support comes just in time for another new feature to the app, which allows you to pick up a learning video from where you left off, so if you start a video on your mobile device while you’re out and away from home, you can pick it back up on the big screen while streaming via Chromecast and not have to restart the whole video. Users should also now see personalized recommendations and improvements to the search results. The app itself  is free, but getting access to the video learning courses will cost you a membership fee.
