Motorola Pushing Out Android 4.4.3 UpDates This Week to Unlocked Moto X, Moto G, and Moto E

Motorola knows how important software upgrades are to users and have done a terrific job over the past year or so to get these as quickly as possible to our devices.  It looks like this trend is continuing with the newest Google release of Android 4.4.3 KitKat upgrade for its Moto X, Moto G and the Motorola Moto E smartphones – at least some of them.  The update is rolling out to unlocked (T-Mobile) Moto X owners, the unlocked Moto G – all new and old 3G variants as well as the new Moto G LTE model – and the Moto E.  Unfortunately, it does not yet include the Verizon, AT&T or Sprint Moto X, or the Verizon prepaid Moto G.  As we know, the software upgrades have to be approved by the carrier first, although Motorola has been able to get them passed fairly quickly.

Besides the usual security fixes, increased stability, framework enhancements, and power profile capabilities – the latest software update brings with it an improved dialer with a new interface and new colors to enhance consistency and usability throughout the user interface.  Moto users will also enjoy: Improved camera image quality for Moto X including better consistency of exposure, more realistic flash coloring, and improved photos in low light conditions using front camera – For Moto X and Moto G, pausing for video recording with a convenient pause/resume button on the viewfinder – Motorola Alert is also in this update for Moto X and Moto G users. This new app helps give peace of mind by sending periodic messages to the contacts you choose.

A few highlights from the specific devices change log for Moto X: Camera – Improved image quality – Improved camera image quality including better consistency of exposure, more realistic flash coloring, improved photos in low light conditions using front camera – Pause video recording – Adds the ability to pause video recording with a convenient pause/resume button on the viewfinder. An Updated Phone Dialer with a new graphical layout and colors to improve consistency and usability.  This update will also enable Moto Alerts, which will send periodic alerts with your location to selected contacts.

For the Moto G it will add in the camera area, the Pause video recording – Adding the ability to pause video recording with a convenient pause/resume button on the viewfinder.  It will also include the updated phone dialer and enable Moto Alerts.  For the Moto E, beside the usual fixes, it will update your Phone Dialer.
