To celebrate Father’s Day you will be able to pick up an HTC One (M8) from Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T for only $99 with a two year contract. That’s a pretty great price for HTC’s premium flagship phone. The deal will run through next week.
All around this sale is not surprising, while the M8 has a good reputation and a bunch of fans – HTC as a whole is not doing as well as they want to be. The company has been hurting for a while now, lagging behind their competitors like Samsung and LG. Even with what was a successful product in the first HTC One (M7), the company continues to face problems. My guess is that this sale isn’t going to turn HTC’s luck around, but it likely signifies a strategy shift by the company moving forward. I would expect that this is the first of possibly many deals in an attempt by the Taiwanese manufacturer to build a larger customer base and get its products into the hands of as many people as possible.
There’s nothing wrong with taking advantage of the sale while it is happening though, especially if you’ve been waiting to pick up the M8 for a while. This sale gives you an opportunity to pick up a great phone for a great price, and there is nothing wrong with that. What do you think? Are you planning on picking up the M8 while it is on sale?
