Today might be the day that we hear all about the next big thing from Google I/O, but that won’t stop rumors surrounding Samsung’s upcoming phablet from appearing. We’ve heard a lot about the Galaxy Note 4 over the last couple of months, and while it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that the next Galaxy Note from Samsung is to launch in the Fall, Korean media has weighed in to bring us a few more details about the device and its launch.
According to Korean Press, the Galaxy Note 4 is ready to enter mass production and will be released very soon after the announcement during the IFA conference in Berlin, which is where Samsung has announced previous models of the Galaxy Note line. As well as letting us know that the device will be released soon after its announcement in the Fall, the report also details two versions of the device, a Galaxy Note 4 with the Exynos 5433 that seems to be one hell of a performer, as well as a Snapdragon 805 variant. We’re presuming the need for a Snapdragon powered device is a call from American carriers that seem to prefer the use of Qualcomm’s chipsets when it comes to LTE, but there could be something else to it of course.
The QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 might also be the first time the West gets a taste of what Samsung’s Super AMOLED display can do with such a high pixel count. After all, the Galaxy S5 LTE- A isn’t goign to be released anywhere outside of Korea, so either the Galaxy F or Galaxy Note 4 will be the first QHD smartphone for Samsung in the West. Apparently, the Galaxy Note 4 is to enter mass production sometime over the next month or so, with July looking most likely. If Samsung are looking to release the Galaxy Note 4 as soon as they announce it, they’ll need to have a lot of units stocked up in order to meet demand, so starting now doesn’t seem all that unlikely.
