According to a tip that Evleaks received today, the Samsung Galaxy F is launching in September. First, let’s give you a bit of background. The Galaxy F leaked out earlier this week and is supposedly going to be replacing the Galaxy S line later this year. The specs have leaked out with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, and a Quad HD display. Otherwise it looks a lot like any other Samsung device, from the leaked images we’ve seen already. We also heard that there is no Galaxy S6 coming, and that the Galaxy S5 is the last Galaxy S device we will see. Which is interesting, considering how many ad dollars they’ve spent on marketing that name.
What’s the most interesting about this rumor is that the Galaxy Note usually is announced in September, and I just don’t see them announcing two flagship smartphones at the same event or even in the same month. So maybe the Galaxy Note 4 is being pushed back this year? Who knows, but it’s really interesting. I doubt that Samsung would get rid of the Galaxy Note line as well, since it’s even bigger than the Galaxy S line nowadays. But I’m also going by what I see with sale numbers and such, Samsung may have another reason for getting rid of some of these lines. But the Galaxy F is supposedly being announced at Unpacked 2014 Episode 2. Once we learn a date for that, we’ll be sure to keep everyone up to date, and of course we’ll be covering it as always.
The Samsung Galaxy F is very intriguing to me, because it’s either replacing the Galaxy S, or adding a third flagship to Samsung’s arsenal. What does everyone think? Galaxy S, Galaxy F and Galaxy Note flagships? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
