Since the Samsung Galaxy S3 back in 2012, Samsung has been releasing mini versions of their flagship devices. Although the screen isn’t the only thing that got smaller, so did the specs. Now the Galaxy S5 Mini isn’t yet official, but we have some more images of the Galaxy S5 Mini thanks to Sammobile who has posted a ton of new high resolution images of the device. Along with some benchmarks. It appears to be sporting a Exynos 3470 processor, which is a quite old processor, 1.4GHz, Quad-core Mali-400 MP4 GPU clocked at 450MHz. It also has 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot as you’d expect from Samsung. It also has a 8MP camera on the back and a 2.1MP camera on the front. As far as the display goes we’re looking at a 4.5-inch 1280×720 AMOLED display. It also has LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, IR Blaster, NFC, GPS with A-GPS support and GLONASS and a microUSB port.
So it’s about what we expected from the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. It’s also running Android 4.4.2 along with the latest version of Touchwiz which is on the Samsung Galaxy S5 as well. it also features the Ultra Power Saving Mode, Kids Mode, and Private Mode out of the box. Which is definitely nice to have. There’s a possibility that Samsung could announce the Galaxy S5 Mini and officially announce the Galaxy S5 Active as well on Thursday at their Galaxy Premiere event. Since the Galaxy S5 Active was just a soft launch by AT&T, similar to last year. We might even see the Galaxy K Zoom at this event as well, but that’s only if it’s coming to the US, which I kinda doubt would happen but who knows.
