StarMaker Launches 'Music Video Selfies' With a Chance to Win The Voice Audition

Just like the song says, “everybody wanna be a star, don’t wanna be who they are.”  We all want to have our ten minutes of fame.  For most people, that fame is as a singer or rock star – look how popular karaoke has become and look at all of the singing contests on TV.  It all started long ago with American Idol and finally the most popular show, The Voice.  If this sounds like your hopes and dreams then StarMaker Interactive, a company headquartered in San Francisco, and the leading mobile talent platform can help make your dreams come true with the release of StarMaker 3.0 that combines the attributes of StarMaker 2.0’s sound and adds video to that platform.

The StarMaker App allows you to make a “music video selfie” and then upload your video to YouTube – I mean, where else would you want to post your talent for all to see.  What really makes this release even more exciting is that StarMaker has teamed up with the casting producers for Season 8 of The Voice, and they will pick a winner from the videos to perform for the show’s producers.  The process is fairly simple – you choose from a selection of songs featured during The Voice Summer Tour.  Next, record your performance using the StarMaker’s new App and upload your StarMaker video to YouTube.  A judging panel made up music professionals from StarMaker and casting producers from The Voice will review the top ten vote getters.  One lucky person will be chosen for a one-on-one call back audition – skipping the lines you would normally be forced to stand in while you wait to get into the building.  Additionally, one top vote getter will be invited to perform live on stage during The Voice Tour show at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on July 29.  The contest runs from June 24 until the audition closes at 12am on July 8, 2014.

The newest rendition of the App, StarMaker 3.0, took their global music platform that is used by over 20 million users worldwide and added video capture and YouTube sharing capabilities to make it easier than ever to make an audition style video to upload to YouTube.  Nathan Sedlander, president and co-founder of StarMaker said:

“We’re giving the next generation of stars immediate access to music-loving fans around the world; a hand-held studio that can accelerate their industry exposure, fan base, and ultimately their career using something we all carry around in our pockets.  We believe every person should have the tools to determine his or her own fame, and not have their destiny decided by a select few gatekeepers.”

Isaac Bess, Music Partnerships Manager, YouTube added, “StarMaker is an amazing tool for artists to share their voices, and bringing these videos to YouTube helps them easily connect with even more fans all over the world.”
