Last week, at Uncarrier 5 John Legere announced Test Drive. Essentially what it does, is allow you to check out T-Mobile’s network on a completely unlimited plan with the iPhone 5S for a week. T-mobile is hashtagging it as #7NightStand. Legere admitted that his network isn’t the best, but they have made major strides in coverage and speeds in the past year or two, and that’s the major reason why people won’t switch to T-Mobile and Legere is looking to change that. Change everyone’s perspective on their network, as it is improving, even though many think it’s the same as 3-5 years ago. Which it definitely isn’t, I know in my area, T-Mobile’s coverage has changed quite a bit since I switched over to magenta for the Nexus 4 in 2012, it’s gotten a whole lot better. Now they still have work to do, but it is getting better.
Here are some things to remember about the #7NightStand,
“The iPhone 5s test device must be ordered online. It will be delivered by mail. You must sign for it and be at least 18 years old to sign. T-Mobile Test Drive is free for 7 days and starts when the device is signed for. After 7 days you must return it in good condition to a T-Mobile retail store (not an authorized retailer) so it’s important you know where your nearest retail store is. Find it here.”
So you get to use a iPhone 5S for about a week. Now obviously it’s not the device we’d want to check out, but we can still take that sim card out and put it in another device. Just remember that the iPhone uses a nano SIM card so you’ll probably need a SIM adapter for the SIM card to work in another device, unfortunately. How many of you are going to take advantage of T-Mobile’s Test Drive.
