T-Mobile's UNCarrier 5.0 Tipped to Simplify your Monthly Bill

Next week, John Legere and co are going to be holding their fifth UNcarrier event. This time it’s in Seattle and on the same day as Amazon’s event. In fact, its in the same city since both companies are Seattle-based companies. So there was a lot of speculation about the two events being related to each other. But we’ll put that conspiracy theory aside for a bit. The latest tip coming out of Phone Arena for T-Mobile’s Uncarrier 5.0 event next week has to do with your monthly bill. And no they are not raising prices. Which I kinda expected them too since their revenue per subscriber has been going down. Instead T-Mobile is simplifying your bill.

Just how is magenta planning on doing that? Well you know how you see that great deal for $70 for unlimited talk, text and web. Then you get your bill and it’s much higher, due to taxes and other fees. Which in some states it’s much higher than others. Well T-Mobile is eliminating that. So in a way your bill will be going up, but not really. Basically all of these fees and taxes that you get charged every month will be factored into the price of your rate plan that you sign up for. It’s pretty neat, and might cause some confusion at first. Simply because, to the naked eye, it looks like T-Mobile is increasing prices. When they actually aren’t, at least from what we are told.

Remember that this is just a rumor and has not been confirmed. So it’s wise to take this all with a grain of salt. But come June 18th, we’ll definitely know what John Legere and the rest of the Magenta team have up their sleeves for their subscribers. Maybe they’ll announce the Sprint/T-Mobile merger Wednesday? Who knows. With Legere, anything is definitely possible.
