China’s MiPad to go On Sale July 1st
Xiaomi announced the MiPad some time ago and now, they’re finally ready to release the Tegra K1 powered tablet into the world. According to reports, the MiPad will be launching on July 1st in China. In case you missed the announcement, the MiPad is to feature a 7.9-inch 2048 x 1536 display resolution, the Tegra K1 CPU from NVIDIA and it’s running the first build of MIUI designed for tablets. Those looking to get a new MiPad can expect to pay 1,499 Yuan for it next month.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S Goes Up for Pre-Order in South Korea
Samsung announced their Super AMOLED packing Galaxy Tab S tablets earlier this month and now, they’re available for pre-order in South Korea. For those wondering how much they’re going to cost, Samsung hasn’t come out with that info just yet, but we can’t imagine these being cheap, especially when we consider the Super AMOLED displays and the Exynos 5420 at the heart of these pair. If you’re one of the first 1,000 in Korea (which we think has already sailed by now) will get a LEVELon headset to go with your new tablet.
LG’s G Watch is Just £99 from Three When Bought With a G3
Like the idea of a G Watch, don’t want to pay any more than £100 for it? Well, you’re in luck! That is if you’ve just bought an LG G3 from Three recently as proof of purchase of a G3 from Three will allow you to pick up the G Watch for just £99. Normally, the G Watch costs £159 from the Play Store and £169.
Microsoft Announce the Nokia X2 to Carry on the Budget Line
When the Nokia X was announced during Mobile World Congress, we were unsure if we would ever see another, especially after the Microsoft sale has now gone ahead. This past week though, we saw a Nokia X2 come out of Microsoft, with a few new upgrades involved. With a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 display, and a dual-core 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon 200 it’s a little better than the first version, but not by much. There are more onscreen buttons this time around, as oppose to the bizarre single back button and we’re still looking at Android 4.1 here, we guess Nokia haven’t gotten the memo concerning KitKat and the Moto E, which also runs a Snapdragon 200. As usual, this is a Microsoft device, so there’s no Google anywhere here, which means you’ll be relying on Microsoft’s services here.
HTC Desire 516 Hits India
The HTC Desire 516 is available in India for RS 14,500 and features a 5-inch 960 x 540 display, a 1.2 Ghz dual-core Snapdragon 200 CPU and is running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Sense on top of it. It’s a dualSIM phone and also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, so while this isn’t the most amazing HTC phone out there, the Desire 516 is a pretty decent deal for such a price. It is a shame however that they couldn’t get Android 4.4 running on this.
Micromax Canvas Knight Now Runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat
Earlier in the year, Micromax announced the A350 Canvas Knight, at the time of launch it was running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but now the device has been upgrade to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, making it one of the first Micromax devices to run the latest version of Android, despite KitKat having been available for months now.
LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live Available to Order in the UK
Following on from the announcement that the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live would be available to order in the US after I/O 2014, the two are now available to order in the UK. Both watches can be ordered directly from the Play Store, as well as elsewhere like MobileFun or Amazon. The G Watch costs £159 and the Gear Live £169, with devices said to be arriving on people’s doorsteps at the beginning of July.
