Big plans are underway at YouTube as they have revealed that new features are on the way to the site. YouTube has come a long way from the simple video sharing platform that it first begun as. Now YouTube serves well over billions of people with quality videos from people all around the world. The new features that YouTube plans to implement are big and may even push the video sharing site farther than ever. This first feature may sound quite familiar to you; its called Fan Funding. Similar to Kickstarter and there funding campaign, YouTube will implement a feature called Fan Funding that will allow viewers of channel owners to make donations. According to the YouTube Creators Blog, “Fans will be able to contribute money to support your channel at any time, for any reason.” The new feature will be tested to a select few people in the US, Mexico, Japan and Australia. In addition to adding a Fan Funding feature to the site for channel owners, YouTube has launched an app for channel owners that allows them to view statistics, notification, and respond to comments. They also announced that they will be adding 60 frames per second in aid of video gaming channels. “Your video game footage with crazy high frame rates will soon look as awesome on YouTube as it does when you’re playing, when we launch support for 48 and even 60 frames per second in the coming months,” explained the post on the creators blog.
With a new app for content creators and a new features that will make gaming videos better, YouTube will have translated subtitles for videos. “In the coming months, your fans will be able to submit translations in any language based on the subtitles or captions you’ve created, helping you reach even more viewers,” explained the creators blog. In addition to translated subtitles, new features such as sound effects in their audio library, info cards, more ways to create playlist, and “The YouTube 15,” which will be a weekly show on SiriusXM’s Hits 1 hosted by Jenna Marbles. YouTube is also working on a music streaming service to challenge bigger services like Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Pandora. YouTubes future plans are currently in the works and we can soon see them implemented as time keeps moving forward.
