Verizon and Motorola Bring Android 4.4.4 to the Droid Family
These are the updates you’re looking for. If you have a Motorola Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra or Droid Mini that is! Big Red and Motorola haven’t forgot about the Droid line and are treating them to Android 4.4.4, which will of course include all those little bits of code that changed from Android 4.4.2 and some Verizon-specific updates as well mostly relating to apps. With fixes to the camera as well as Bluetooth connectivity, this is a pretty decent update to have.
HTC One (M8) Gets WiFi Calling in Android 4.4.3 Update on Sprint
Those on Sprint will be happy to see Android 4.4.3 hit their HTC Ones this week, as well as the introduction of WiFi Calling. The update you’re looking for is 2.16.651.4 and unsurprisingly, it does very little more than that – so yeah, enjoy that WiFi Calling!
KitKat MR2 (4.4.4_r2) Hits Nexus 5s in Australia, New Zealand and India
Android 4.4.4_r2 or the KitKat MR2 release hit Nexus 5 devices in New Zealand, Australia and India this past week. As you might expect, there’s not much that comes with that and it’s just radio fixes here and there that you should expect from this small update. If you’ve been experiencing some radio issues with your device, then this update might well fix said issues. The factory image for the new KTU84Q build can be found here.
Sony Update Xperia T2 Ultra to KitKat
Sony has been getting their act together when it comes to updates for some time now and the Xperia T2 Ultra is the latest of theirs to get Android 4.4 KitKat. Galaxy S4 Zoom Finally Gets Android 4.4
Remember the camera that wasn’t a camera, and the phone that wasn’t just a phone? Well,that device – the Galaxy S4 Zoom – is getting updated to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The build number is C101XXUBNF4 and if you’ve seen a Samsung update to KitKat before, you should know what to expect here, including an even quicker way to get to the camera, which should come in handy specifically for the Galaxy S4 Zoom.
Google Glass Gets XE19.1 Update
Just a couple days ago, Google started rolling out the XE19.1 release for Glass, which brings with it a revamped menu interface as well as a focus on fixing connectivity issues from previous releases. The new menu certainly looks a little cleaner and easier to use, and those interested in the full release notes can just head on over to Google’s support site.
