Benchmark Website Test Results Pop Up For Two Unannounced Samsung Phones

Well known benchmarking website GFXBench has just recently had two unannounced Samsung phones tested. First is the SM-G5308W that comes with a 5-inch touchscreen but only a listed 960 x 540 resolution for the display. According to the tests, the device is running the latest version of Kit Kat to date which is Android version 4.4.4, and a Qualcomm quad-core CPU and a Qualcomm Adreno 306 GPU. We’re most likely looking at an 8MP rear facing camera that supports video recording at up to 1080p quality and the front facing camera is listed as 1.8MP so we’re probably looking at 2MP here, with video recording at an obvious lower quality than what will be capable on the back.

All the sensors you’d expect to see here are listed like accelerometer, gyroscope, lightsensor, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, Proximity, GPS, etc. As for the second device spotted on their site, we’re looking at the SM-G8508S. This device is also listed as running Android 4.4.4. but has a slightly smaller display at 4.7-inches yet with a higher resolution of 1280 x 720. It’s also running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800(Krait ArMV7) according to the table listing and has a Qualcomm Adreno 330 for the graphics. The rear camera is listed as an 11MP so we’re probably looking at a 12MP camera on the back for this particular device, also with video recording up to 1080p quality. The front facing camera on the SM-G8508S is listed as 2MP, so it probably has the same quality camera on the front as the other device but instead supports the same quality video recording as the rear camera in this case.

It also has all the same sensors and connection/network support as the SM-G5308W, but supports HDR photos where as the SM-G5308W does not. Storage and memory on the SM-G8508S should be 16GB and 2GB for the RAM, which is pretty much standard and seen on most phones from last year and a good few from this year. Some rumors are suggesting that we could be looking the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo for the SM-G8508S which would make sense given the screen size and other specs. What do you make of these two devices?
