Changes happening to Motorola's Leadership Team, Ahead of Lenovo Acquisition

You may remember that earlier this year, Google sold off Motorola Mobility to Lenovo, although they are keeping the patents so that Android can use them. Since that news was made public, we’ve seen a few people leave for other positions at other companies. Most notably, Dennis Woodside, who was a Google veteran, headed over to Dropbox in April. Leaving Rick Osterloh to take over as COO of the company. According to a blog post from Motorola today, there are more changes happening in their leadership team. Starting with Charlie Tritschler who is now Senior Vice President of Product Management. So that he will be overseeing all of the products Motorola makes, as well as product marketing. According to Motorola, Tritschler was very involved with the Moto G and Moto E.

There’s a few other changes as well:

“As our global presence expands again, we will rely more on our regional leaders who deeply understand their local markets. As a result, regional sales heads will now sit on our senior leadership team. They include: Jeff Miller, Corporate Vice President, North America and Global GTM Operations. Sergio Buniac, CVP, Latin America. Magnus Ahlqvist, CVP, EMEA and APAC.” Additionally, Motorola had some news about Adrianne Hayes, who is the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “Adrienne Hayes, SVP, Marketing and Communications, will lead a newly combined marketing and communications organization that will be responsible for our brand image, advertising and reputation globally.”

So, those are all the changes so far. Nothing too exciting just yet, and we’re likely to see even more change after the Lenovo deal is approved by the powers that be. But in the meantime, Motorola needs to worry about their 2014 devices and launching them. We are still waiting on the Moto X+1, Moto 360 and that rumored Motorola Nexus phablet.
