Just yesterday, Verizon announced the HTC One Remix, and it launches today. It’s now available for just $49.99 on a new contract. Which means they dropped the price since they announced the device yesterday. As they announced it to be $99 on a new contract, which I thought was a bit expensive since all their flagships are currently $99 on contract. The HTC One Remix, is basically the One Mini 2 for Verizon. It’s a decent 4.5-inch mid-range device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor inside, and 16GB of storage. It’s still pretty tall due to the front-facing speakers though, but we are kind used to that now, from HTC.
In addition to the HTC One Remix, Verizon is also launching the Galaxy Tab 4 from Samsung. This is the 10.1 version, which has pretty decent specs as well for a mid-range tablet. Including a 10-inch 1280×800 resolution display, 16GB of storage, 1.5GB of RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and Kitkat. Verizon is selling it for $359 on a new contract, or $22.99 on Verizon Edge, or if you just want to buy it at full retail it’ll cost you $459.99. I’d suggest going for the full retail or Verizon Edge. Because buying it on contract, you’re going to end up paying more in the long run for the Galaxy Tab 4, and no one wants to do that.
With Verizon’s earnings for Q2 already in the books, it’s going to be interesting to see how many tablets they add in Q3. As they added over a million in Q2 alone. It appears that for carriers, tablets are the new hot device. As smartphones are kinda saturated now. How many of you are looking to pick up either the HTC One Remix or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4? Both are great mid-range devices, and you can’t go wrong with either or both. Let us know in the comments down below.
