LEAK: Sony Xperia Z3 Leaks out it's Back and Side

The Sony Xperia Z3 has been the subject of quite a few leaks lately. With it’s announcement expected for IFA in September in Berlin, we should  be seeing a whole lot more leaks as well. The Xperia Z3 is the fourth Xperia Z generation, which dates back to CES 2013, where they announced the Xperia Z and ZL. The leaks of the specs for the Xperia Z3 seems about the same as the Xperia Z2, actually they are identical so far. We’re looking at a 5.15-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor inside, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage (likely a microSD card slot), 20.7MP camera on the back, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Sony’s UI overlay on top. So far it is identical to the Xperia Z2, which shouldn’t be a huge surprise as the Z2 was almost identical to the Xperia Z1 when it launched earlier this year.

Today, we have a couple of new images of the Sony Xperia Z3. We can see the back and side of the device now. The back looks like any other Sony smartphone, but the sides seem to be a bit more curved and less boxy now. Which I’d be a big fan of, depending on how it feels in the hand. As you can see there’s still a dedicated Camera button on the side, which I really, really like. And wish more OEMs would add that to their devices.

The fact that Sony is about to release a new device is probably going to sway a lot of people from picking up the Xperia Z2. Which sucks for Sony as their mobile business isn’t doing too particularly well. And for some reason they think that 6-month release cycles are brilliant. I’m not sure where they got that data from.
